i am trying to install a script on my linux server but i keep getting this error message when i run the command:

rpm -i wallpaperscript-1-2-0.rpm

it says:

failed to open /var/lib/rpm/packages.rpm: permission denied
error cannot open /var/lib/rpm/packages.rpm

so how do i install it correctly
