Dreamweaver - Validate This Document Disabled

hi, i recently purchased dreamweaver cs5 for 1700 bucks, and it sucks.

there are alot of features that i liked about the previous version that in the new version are no longer there.

for example, today i wanted to validate this file i had and i couldn't. the "Validate this document" option was shaded so i couldnt select it.

do you know if i there is anything special i need to do to enable validating my files?

have you tried going into settings and matching the document type you are trying to validate?

for example, on my picture, i have a XHTML 1.0 Transitional

so make sure you also have that type of validation file selected in your settings
