In the tradition of keeping excellent support by Webune. We are writing this tutorial to help you resetting a catalyst switches to factory defaults.

this is example, we are going to be using a cisco 2950. to change the configurations of the switch, we will need to connect to the switch through the console terminal.

once you have connected a computer to the console terminal on your switch use this command:



1. Enable Mode:
COMMAND:
en

NOTE: you may have to enter the enable password

2. Erase Current COnfiguration:
COMMAND:
write erase

Erasing the nvram filesystem will remove all configuration files! Continue? [confirm]y

Erase of nvram: complete
