ok, lets say you are trying to change some configurations while you are in the windows xp discovery console and when you execute a command like this:
SET AllowWildCards = TRUE
SET AllowAllPaths = TRUE
SET AllowRemovableMedia = TRUE
you get an error like this:
The SET command is currently disabled. The SET command is an optional Recovery Console command that can only be enabled by using the the Security Configuartion and Analysis snap-in.
ok, so how do you about enabling the Security Configuartion and Analysis snap-in if you can't boot up to the system?
i found a fix around, for example, if the bad computer had windows xp installed on it, you can bypass this message by using a windows 2000 recovery console disk instead of a windows xp installation cd
