if you don't know what a star topology is, its very easy to remember, just think of it as star.
its basically a hub of networks connected together to provide point to point access to each device, node or computer in the network. a star topology is better then other topologies because it provides redundancy, but it costs more.
most of the networks today, are configured as star topologies.
usually 10 or 100 Mbs
generic hub = concentrator
wireless = usually 11Mbs 54 mbs and now some are 100Mbs
